Clara's Owners Rock

Clara's owners just brought over a basket of very yummy treats to thank us of keeping Clara! Best of all they brought Clara with them. Tomorrow they go back to their home, in L.A. Dad and I thank them very much and are glad they brought Clara back to say good bye!!

Clara the dog

Here is a story I wrote on christmas day. Note: This is all true!

An Unexpected Visitor
Makena Lambert Thursday, December 25, 2008

It was a regular Christmas afternoon and I was out playing basketball with my new volleyball. I had gotten just what I wanted and could feel that it was a special Christmas. I missed the basket and turned around to get the rebound when, what to my wondering eyes would appear, but a little black dog trotting toward me.
“Hi there little fella,” I said. “I looked around for her owner but no one was there. “Here puppy,” I called for her. I took her collar to see if there was an address but there wasn’t. The tag read: Clara. Underneath her name were two phone numbers. I picked Clara up and brought her to my door, checking once more for the owner.
“Dad, Dad come quick. I found a stray puppy,” I yelled in the house. “Honey I’m trying to pull the turkey out of the oven,” he replied. Dad obviously didn’t hear what I said. I tried again, “Dad, Dad I found a stray puppy,” I said. “You found a puppy,” he questioned, walking toward the door. “Where did you find her?” he asked. “I was shooting hoops and she came running up to me. She is very friendly and her name is Clara,” I told him. “Does her name tag have an address?” he asked. “No,” I answered, “just two phone numbers.”
My dad went to get the phone and I kept Clara from attacking the neighbor’s cats. “Ok,” said Dad, returning with the phone, “please read the number for me.” “(818) 512-0602,” I read. The phone rang and we were all quiet. Then the answering machine went on. Dad left the man a long message explaining that Clara was safe and we would keep her until he came to get her. “Dad, can we please bring Clara in?” I asked using the puppy dog eyes. “ Sure,” he said, winking at the dog. My dad went in first to close all of the bedroom doors so that if she peed it wouldn’t be on the carpet.
Clara ran through the house at top speed sniffing everywhere and everything. I kept a close eye on her while dad prepared Christmas dinner. It looked like she wanted to go outside so I let her out in the backyard The Clara did the same, run around at top speed trying to get out and sniffing everything. She didn’t have to go pee so I let her back inside since it was cold. Clara and I played with my volleyball. I would roll it and Clara would tackle it with a loud bark. Dad put dinner on the table and I told Clara to lay down and stay. Amazingly she stayed! It looked like she was asleep the way she lay on her back with her paws up.
We called people to thank them for the wonderful gifts they got us and we also told them about Clara. After that, Clara enjoyed a few pieces of my dad’s famous Christmas turkey. She seemed to love it and she pretty much hung around the kitchen for the rest of the evening. We called the numbers on Clara’s tag again. Still no answer. My dad left another message and we decided to give Clara’s owner another hour to call and if they didn’t then we would call the Animal Cops and they could find Clara’s owner. The only problem was: Did they work on Christmas night?
We were starting to think that maybe her owners were gone for Christmas break. Clara hung with us for another hour and then we decided to call the cops. Since all of the Animal police were not working the cop said that we could bring her to the kennel, keep her overnight and bring her in the morning or just let her go. Dad said no way to option three so we decided we would let her stay overnight. I then got the smart idea that maybe Clara knew the way back to her house. Dad thought it wouldn’t work but he decided we could give it a try. He pulled out an old dog leash from his closet. We had now kept Clara for three hours.
I ran back inside to get a flashlight since it was now dark. Dad held the flashlight and I took the leash. Instead of me walking her, she walked me. “Dad, if the cops take Clara but nobody claims her then can we keep her?” I asked already sure I knew the answer. “No,” he answered. Yep, I knew it. “Why not?” still thinking that I knew the answer. “Because she belongs to somebody else and I don’t have time for a dog,” he replied. Yep, I knew it.
Now we were about half way around the block. Clara started to pull on the leash. She pulled me into a driveway. “Dad, I think this is it,” I said. “Nah, I think she is just wandering,” he replied. The house had a BMW in the driveway. “Fine,” I said. We went back home and dad turned on the phone to see if we got any new messages. “One message,” said the machine. A man said, “Thank you for taking care of my dog, Clara.” He said that they would come around the house to pick her up. I gave my dad a high-five. We put the leash on Clara. I held her in my arms and a man walked up. He shook hands with my dad and thanked us. Clara was so happy and she jumped into his arms.
As that cute little black puppy drove away I thought, wow, I just saved a dog. That will always be a Christmas memory.

Tigers

For Christmas Santa brought me a huge tiger stuffed animal. I may not of told you but I love tigers! I love tigers so much i decided to do a report about them. here it is:

I am doing a report on Siberian Tigers, and all of my facts came from worldkids.net.
There are no more then 200 Siberian Tigers left in the wild. Although the largest living cat, the Siberian Tiger is not a very good hunter. It will creep 30 to 80 feet close to its prey, and then it will pounce and grab the animal by its neck. If the tiger misses it may chase its prey, but once the tiger misses it’ll rarely ever catches its prey. The Siberian Tiger needs to eat 20 lbs of meat a day, but could eat 200 lbs of meat a day if it wanted to. The Siberian Tiger can be up to 9 or 12 feet long (head to tail). It weighs between 400 to 650 lbs and is 31/12 feet tall. The Siberian Tiger can live up to 25 years old. A Siberian Tigers territory range is 1,200 square miles. Isn’t that interesting?

Female Tigers usually have 3 or4 cubs. The cubs are born blind, and drink milk for six months. When 2 weeks old cubs open their eyes and grow baby teeth. At 3 months old the cubs start wander out of their den. When the cubs are 6 months old the cubs go out hunting with their mom, and when the cubs are 1 year old the cubs start hunting for themselves. Finally when 3 or 5 years old the cute cubs leave their parents and go try and find territory of their own, and get a mate.

TIGERS ARE VERY NICE ANIMALS AND I HOPE THEY NEVER DIE OUT!!!!!!!!

Cyprus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi I'm sorry it took so long to write about cyprus.Well, Cyprus was probobobly one of my favorite places I have ever gone in my life!
OK I'll get to the point, when we first arrived in Cyprus I thought that we would have a tiny house, but when we got there I noticed that we had the longest, curvyest driveway ever when we finnaly got up to the house I noticed it was huge!!! i jumped out of the car so fast i nearly fell. I ran inside, and when I got in my Aunt and uncle and grandma and grandpa and new baby cousin greeted us.
My new baby cousin, Eren, was so cute!!!!! After I was done hugging everybody I ran up stairs to see my room. It was so pretty! After a long time of looking around my mom told me that we had a donkey!!!!!! So my dad took my sister and brother and I to go see our donkey. she was so beautiful! We named her cookie, because she looked like a cookie. It turned out she was pregnet!!!!!!!!!!!! Then we went back up to the house and went swimming in our swimming pool. Our swimming pool was shaped like a shoval. our swimming pool had a shalow end and a deepish end. Thankfuly our swimming pool was not too cold. After that we went to go jump on our humunges trampoline. It was so bouncey! then we ate dinner and went to bed.

Well, i'm sorry, but it's time for me to go eat dinner.

To Be Continuted!!!!
